Sample lesson
Adapted excerpt from „Invoice With a Purchase Order Reference“.
A supplier invoice for 100 blanks arrives. A purchase order already exists for this delivery. You want to link the invoice to that purchasing document.
Which reference do you use in this example?
The purchase order number
For a purchase-order-based invoice, you use the purchase order as a reference. The system can then propose item data. You still check quantities, prices and differences. Logistics Invoice Verification is part of MM and integrates with FI.
This example explains a typical business concept. Specific features and workflows depend on the SAP version, edition and system settings.
The full lesson continues with proposed data and supplier invoice entry. Later lessons explain the GR/IR account and differences in invoice verification.

SAP Library
SAP Library lets you look up MM transactions and Fiori apps, processes, tables and data objects. The learning path and reference library complement each other: understand the workflow, then find specific steps and concepts when needed.
SAP Library describes content for FI, CO, MM, SD, PM, IM, PP and HCM. FI, CO, MM and SD have the most extensive coverage. Library coverage is distinct from the availability of complete School learning modules.
The Library covers ECC and S/4HANA. Choose the system view that fits your use case.
A purchase order starts a logistics process; goods receipts and invoices can have financial effects. FI explains the accounting perspective, while CO adds cost responsibility. These interfaces make end-to-end understanding valuable.
