SAP FI means Financial Accounting. It records business transactions in the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and asset accounting. The aim is to understand the effect of a posting, as well as the steps used to enter it.

Sample lesson
Adapted excerpt from „Reversal Instead of Deletion“.
A colleague at Northwind Cycles is reviewing documents and finds a reversed document. She wants to know why it was reversed and where the correction landed.
Where can she trace this?
Right in the document: original and reversal reference each other
A reversal creates a separate reversal document. The original and reversal remain linked, and a reversal reason documents the correction. This preserves a traceable record. Whether a document can be reversed directly depends on factors such as its status and the posting periods.
This example explains a typical business concept. Specific features and workflows depend on the SAP version, edition and system settings.
The full lesson also covers changeable fields and negative postings. Other FI lessons connect document logic, master data and business processes.

SAP Library
Alongside the learning path, SAP Library describes transactions and Fiori apps, processes, tables and data objects. For FI, this helps you look up a document, master record or process step in context.
SAP Library describes content for FI, CO, MM, SD, PM, IM, PP and HCM. FI, CO, MM and SD have the most extensive coverage. Library coverage is distinct from the availability of complete School learning modules.
The Library covers ECC and S/4HANA. Choose the system view that fits your use case.
FI provides the financial accounting view of business transactions. CO adds the internal view of costs and responsibility. In purchasing, MM connects the logistics process with accounting.

FI records business transactions for financial accounting. CO supports internal cost and performance management. The views complement each other, for example when an expense is assigned to a cost center.
